Oratorio Concert: A Ceremony of Wonder featuring Menotti's Amahl and the Night Visitors

Music

Long version: Enter the mystery and wonder of Christmas through an afternoon of unforgettable music. The Oratorio Choir, joined by guest soloists and our gifted section leaders, will present a semi-staged performance of Gian Carlo Menotti’s beloved Amahl and the Night Visitors—the touching story of a poor shepherd boy whose encounter with the Magi transforms his life.

The program will also feature Benjamin Britten’s luminous A Ceremony of Carols, Ralph Vaughan Williams’s richly evocative Fantasia on Christmas Carols, and Franz Biebl’s radiant Ave Maria.

From ancient prophecy and angelic song to a child’s extraordinary act of generosity, A Ceremony of Wonder invites listeners of every age to experience the beauty, joy, and transforming hope of the Christmas story.

Admission is free; a free-will offering will be received to support the Music Ministry.
