Hard Conversations
Hard Conversations is our ongoing series exploring current events and hot-button issues through the lens of faith. Every voice matters. Every perspective teaches us something. This is how we practice loving inclusively: listening across differences, deepening our faith, and growing in understanding of one another.
No debate. No agenda. Just people committed to listening well and loving better.
How it started
Hard Conversations began with Mike, a liberal, and Walt, a conservative. Week after week, after worship, they stood together — not to win an argument, but to truly hear one another. Over time, their debates gave way to genuine understanding, and eventually to a friendship rooted in their shared love for the way of Jesus. That spirit still shapes every Hard Conversations gathering.
What we do
Each week we take on a topic from the headlines — the kind most of us are already thinking about, arguing about, or avoiding — and ask what our faith actually has to say about it. We don't come to a session with a conclusion we're trying to get everyone to reach. We come to listen, to be honest about where we land, and to stay in relationship with people who land somewhere else.
Who's invited
Everyone. Whatever your faith or political perspective, whatever side of an issue you find yourself on — you're welcome here. No debate, just a willingness to listen and share your thoughts.
