Marc Oehler

Pastor and Head of Staff

Marc Oehler has served at West Side Presbyterian Church since 2010 and has been Pastor and Head of Staff since 2014. A native of northern New Jersey, he grew up in West Caldwell and has spent nearly 30 years serving congregations across the state.

Marc’s ministry weaves together spirituality, psychology, contemplation, and community life. In addition to serving as a pastor, he is a spiritual director and licensed clinical social worker with training through Oasis Ministries for Spiritual Development and the Living School at the Center for Action and Contemplation, where he studied under Fr. Richard Rohr.

He holds degrees from Lafayette College, Princeton Theological Seminary, and the University of Pennsylvania School of Social Work.

Marc is passionate about helping people live with greater depth, compassion, and connection—to God, to themselves, to one another, and to the world around them. His work often explores the intersection of faith and science, psychology and spirituality, current events and ancient wisdom, and contemplation and action.

He is known for grounded preaching, honest conversation, and creating spaces where people can bring their whole selves, ask meaningful questions, and grow in faith together.

Outside the church, you’ll often find Marc walking outdoors, playing tennis, working out, reading, writing poetry, singing, or cheering on the New York Yankees. He values solitude, meaningful conversation, and the quiet wisdom found in both nature and community.

Marc and his wife, Nicole, and their two children live in Allendale
