Welcome to West Side Presbyterian Church! We are a welcoming church, rooted deeply in Christ, inviting ALL to connect, grow and serve. That’s our vision statement, and we live it every day. Come join us on Sunday morning and experience West Side firsthand. Wherever you are on life’s journey, there’s a place for you here.
What Can I Expect on Sundays?
Whether you are an early riser seeking a "quiet" worship service, a traditionalist who enjoys classic hymns and organ music or someone who leans more toward electric guitar and drums, there's a service for you at West Side.
8:15 am - Chapel Worship, an intimate service during which the sacrament of communion is celebrated every week.
9:00 am - Contemporary Worship, on the lower level, featuring a full band, contemporary Christian music, an interactive liturgy and the celebration of communion each week.
10:15 am - Traditional Worship in the Sanctuary, featuring a full choir, traditional hymns, pipe organ and the Presbyterian liturgy. The sacrament of communion is celebrated on the first Sunday of the month.
Dress at any of our services is whatever you feel comfortable in, although people tend to be more dressed up at the 10:15 am service.
All of our public areas are accessible to people with disabilities.
Ample parking is available for all services in our lot directly across Hillside Place.
What Do You Have for My Kids?
We encourage children of all ages to join us in worship. Pick up an activity bag on your way into worship, and please don’t be embarrassed if your kids are not perfectly quiet. Jesus welcomed the little children, and so do we.
Alternatively, our Little Lambs Nursery is available from 8:00 am to 11:45 am for infants and toddlers. It is staffed by loving, experienced, carefully screened adults and teens, who utilize an online registration system to ensure the safety and security of your little ones.
Kids in Pre-K through 7th grade get to go to Sunday School during the 9:00 am and 10:15 am services. The innovative curriculum, called Orange, combines the light of the church (yellow) with the heart of the family (red) to help children form a lifelong faith in Christ (orange). Each month has a theme—kindness, love, respect—that is carried through with a smartphone app so that you can easily incorporate faith conversations into your everyday routine. Plan to arrive a few minutes early to check in your children.
What Do You Have for Me?
What is the Presbyterian Church (USA)?
A part of the reformed tradition, it is the largest Presbyterian denomination in the United States and is known for its relatively progressive stance on doctrine. At the core of Presbyterian identity is a secure hope in the grace of God in Jesus Christ - a hope that, by the power of the Holy Spirit, empowers us to live lives of gratitude. This strong emphasis on the grace of God in Jesus Christ is our heritage from the founder of the reformed tradition, John Calvin.
How Do I Join?
Are you interested in finding out more about who we are, what we believe and why? You’re invited to attend a New Member Class. It’s for anyone considering membership at West Side or who wants to know more about the Presbyterian Church (USA) tradition.
This dynamic two-part class is both fun and meaningful. It’s designed to help you get to know our clergy and church leaders, learn about West Side and its ministries, connect with other prospective members, ask questions, get comfortable and consider how God is calling you to become part of our ministry and mission.
Our next New Member Class is taking place May 5 and May 19 from 4:30 to 6:30 pm. (Dinner will be served.) If you decide to join, you will be assigned a “shepherd” who will serve as your guide to all things West Side and help you settle into church life...and you'll be received as a new member on May 26 at either the 9:00 am or 10:15 am service.
I'm in, sign me up!
