GREENFAITH ORGANIZATIONAL MEETING
Thursday, March 4th 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm
We will hold our first GreenFaith organizational meeting this Thursday March 4th, 7pm in the Chapel. We hope you can be there. The meeting will be short and to the point, over by 8pm for Choir practice, so we hope you will make it.
The agenda will include:
1. Preparing for our first GreenFaith Interfaith Event on Thursday April 15th 7pm. We have been asked by the NJ GreenFaith office to host this event for our members and others from area houses of worship. This is a wonderful opportunity for Westside. As you will learn, Rob Schucker owns a local landscaping company and is a board member of GreenFaith. He will speak about “Eco Friendly Lawn and Grounds Care. How you and Your Congregation can care for your properties in a sustainable and ecologically sound manner.” He will also speak about the GreenFaith organization, its mission and goals. As hosts of this event we will need to take responsibility for publicity and inviting other area congregations. In collaboration with the GF office, we will distribute flyers in our area and send out letters/invitations to area churches. We have made up drafts for both, so it will just be a matter of distribution, and getting the word out.
2. The deadline for applying for the GreenFaith Certification Process is May 1st, 2010. We hope to make the deadline this time. The application is not complicated, but will require some collaboration and timeliness. Kindly let me know who will be able to attend this important meeting by emailing back. Many hands will make the work light, and fun, and an exciting step for our church!
