The Choirs
Choir rehearsals for children's and youth choirs resume at their usual times on January 17 (John Knox and Senior High), January 18 (Carol and Cantate), and January 19 (Chapel and Covenant).
The Chancel Choir rehearses each Thursday, 8 to 10:15 p.m.
The Oratorio Choir, made up of singers whose schedules do not permit them to participate in the regular Chancel Choir, joins the Chancel Choir in the performance of major choral works. Rehearsals are held on Thursday evenings in conjunction with the Chancel Choir from 9 to 10:15 p.m. The Oratorio Choir continues to prepare for the December 11th Service of Advent Lessons and Carols at Thursday rehearsals, 9:00 p.m. in the Choir Room. Dress rehearsals are on Wednesday, December 6th, 7:30 p.m., and Saturday, December 20th, 9:00 a.m.
Winter Choir Retreat
The Winter Choir Retreat is coming up on Saturday, January 7th. (Yes, that's a change from the original date but we decided we really need the extra week.) This year we will dedicate the entire retreat to working on Mendelssohn's Elijah, which will be presented on Sunday, March 25th. So whether you are a Chancel Choir singer or an Oratorio Choir member, we will need everyone here that day. We will start with continental breakfast at 8:30 a.m., with rehearsal beginning at 9:00 a.m. If you haven't been in the Chancel or Oratorio Choir, consider getting involved for our Centennial!

Overnight shelter is needed for members of the Harvard Glee Club, which will perform at West Side on January 21st as part of the West Side Concert Series. If you can provide overnight accomodations for one or two singers that night, please contact Lynn Curtin at lacurtin@optonline.net.

The Senior High Choir, grades 9-12: Rehearsals are on Tuesdays from 7:15 to 8:15 p.m.
The Chapel Choir, girls, grades 4-5: and The Covenant Choir, girls, grades 6-8: Rehearsals are on Thursdays, 4-5:15 p.m.
The John Knox Boy Choir, boys with unchanged voices, grades 4-8: Rehearsals are on Tuesdays, 4-5:30 p.m.
